MATTHEW ALEXANDER RBA

Born in Kent in 1953 into an artistic family (his father was the noted painter and teacher, Christopher Alexander and his brother, 
Gregory, is also a professional painter) Matthew was trained first at Canterbury and then Maidstone College of Art, completing his 
studies at the University of London.

For the next decade he taught art, first as a full-time teacher and subsequently as a part-time lecturer in adult education.

Matthew's first exhibition was held in 1975 jointly with his father and his brother.

Since then he has become firmly established as one the country's foremost new English Impressionist landscape painters and his 
work has been shown in many major exhibitions throughout the UK, Europe and America.
